C220 M5 USING EMBEDDED SOFTWARE RAID NOT WORKING ( SATA DISKS(

Hello all,

We have a c220 M5 ( UCSC-220-M5SX ) server on which we want to initialize and create a raid 1 --2 SATA DISKS  by using the for embedded SATA RAID .According to the service manual of the server we need to enable  boot mode to UEFI mode and then enable • LSI SW RAID  in the LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility (SATA) .We have updated server's firmware codes to latest release , however we are unable to create a raid 1 since all options in the Menu are grayed out ( Create configuration / Select Virtual Drives View Drive Group properties ..

HDD Drives are -->

Product ID UCS-HD300G10K12N (300 GB 12G SAS 10K RPM SFF HDD).

Additionally, UCSC--SATAIN-220M5 is installed into the server.

Can you please assist?

Checking the install guide at https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220M5/install/C220M5/C220M5_appendix_0100.html#concept_dmf_4rd_kz, that SATA controller may expect SATA drives, and not the SAS drives you appear to have connected...
