Can we use a higher B bundle than A within the same release. For example 4.2(3e) with the 4.2(3h) B bundle? I am sure we can but I cannot find anything specific. Thanks.

Hello,
As atricia pointed out, refer to release notes. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/cisco-ucs-manager-rn-4-2.html#concept_u3g_211_qjb
There is specific table for cross version support:
The minor lettered releases never matter. Just the minor numbered releases.
This table shows UCSM 4.2(1) supports Host FW versions 4.2(1) to 4.2(3) AND Infra 4.2(3) all the way down to 4.0(1).
Yes, your 4.2(3e) Infra is supported to run Host firmware 4.2(3h) per your example

The release notes or documentation provided by the software vendor should be your primary source of information regarding compatibility and the use of different bundles or patches. These documents typically detail which bundles are compatible with each other. If you plan to use a higher "B" bundle, it's essential to thoroughly test it in your specific environment before deploying it in a production setting. This helps identify any potential issues or incompatibilities. Consider whether the higher "B" bundle has any dependencies on other components or software versions. Ensure that all dependencies are met.

Thank you for confirming. I thought that was the case looking at the documentation but then noted in the Firmware Management Guide it says A can be mixed with previous B or C releases so started to doubt myself despite the table showing otherwise. I guess when it says previous as you say the minor letter releases don't matter.
