EDIT: FIXED!
Hello everyone,
I have two UCS 5108 AC2 chassis. One contains 6324 IOMs and the other contains 2204XP extenders. Connected between the two is two QSFP-H40G-CU1M (scalability 40g qsfp+ to 4 10g breakouts). All the links status shows as up on the 6324 IOMs side.
Using a 1 link discovery policy, I cannot discover the other chassis. I have updated all the firmware to the latest, even UCS Manager 3.1, but I do not see any transient errors regarding the secondary chassis.
Turns out, all of the Firmware was not 3.1. The 6324 IO Modules were still running 3.0. After updating, I was able to discover the chassis just fine. Thank you all for your help.
Here are my discovery policy settings for the chassis side:
Chassis/FEX Discovery Policy
Action: 1 Link
Link Grouping Preference: None
Rack Server
Action: immediate
Scrub policy: <not set>
Rack Management Connection Policy
Action: Auto
Power Policy: Grid (All 8 PSUs are plugged in and powered on)
MAC Table Aging:
Mode Default
Global Power Allocation Policy:
Policy Driven Chassis Group Cap
Firmware Auto Sync Server Policy
Sync State: User Ack
Global Power Profiling Policy
Profile Power (Checked)
Info Policy: Action - Disabled
Please let me know of any other details I can provide to discover the secondary chassis.

I also understand that the scalability port must be licensed in order for it to be used. Does the grace period count? Or do I need an actual license?

You have to license the port; however, that's not the problem; grace period will start, and even if it expires, it wouldn't remove the configuration.
Could it be a simple issue ? are you connecting the correct one of the 4 available cables ? I would try to connect all 4 and see if it works.

Thank you for your reply Walter. I would imagine it is a simple configuration issue.
All 8 cables are plugged in on the 2204XPs, however.

Doing show interface command , you can know the status
Connect UCS Mangeer via CLI
# scope eth-server
# show interface

Hi Alexs
Did you configure the server port ?
I see extended chassis in our environment .
1. I connected between scalability port and secondary chassis
2.configure the ciscovery policy
3.set server port
our license is as follows
# scope license
# show feature

Thank you for you reply Kashima,
The ports are configured as server ports, and my licenses feature output looks similar. Very interesting.
License feature:
Name Vendor Version Type Grace Period
------------------------- ------ ------- ------------------ ------------
ETH_PORT_ACTIVATION_PKG cisco 1.0 Counted 120
SCAL_ETH_PORT_ACTIVATION_PKG
cisco 1.0 Counted 120
