Cisco Custom ISO - VMWare ESXi 5.5 Upd 2 - VMware Update Manager still showing Update 2 Required

Hello All,

I just updated one of my hosts with the latest cisco image provided on vmware's site (Vmware-ESXi-5.5.0-2068190-custom-Cisco-5.5.2.3).  After applying it as a host upgrade and then doing a scan against the host in update manager, it shows that ESXi Complete Update 2 is missing???

I know this may be more of a vmware issue, but wanted to see if anyone had run into this?

Hi Samuel,

SSH into the esxi host that you updated and run the command below to verify that the esxi host is running the version you want.

vmware -lv

I ended up getting a vmware ticket opened.  Turns out that the patch description was no that great and it was bug fixes for 5.5 Upd 2.  We verified 110% that it was correctly updated.  Update manager could not be so vague sometimes.
