Cisco UCS FI 6120 and EMC VNX 5500 Direct Connectivity

Hi all,

I have 2 Cisco FI 6120, with 6 port 8GB FC expantion module. I also have 2 EMC VNX 5500 storage, my question is:can I connect the ports on the FI's expantion module directly to VNX 5500 storage (there is 2 * 4 ports 8GB FC modules connected to each storage) without the need of a FC switch?.

Yes, you can connect a storage port directly in the fabric interconnect.

First of all, you must change the Fabric Interconnect SAN scope to "switch mode". (It requires a reboot).

After that, you can configure storage ports and perform zoning.
