Dear Cisco Community,
I am working on a Cisco IF(Cisco UCS 6248UP) with a chassis (Cisco UCS 5108 AC2 Chassis), and after initial setup, everything working, but now I am stuck with this info that led to an error.
Deploying Fan policy changes on chassis 1(FSM-STAGE:sam:dme:EquipmentChassisFanPolicyConfig:Execute)
I have only the global policy configured with the Fan Controll Policy Default.
[FSM:STAGE:RETRY:]: Deploying Fan policy changes on chassis 1(FSM-STAGE:sam:dme:EquipmentChassisFanPolicyConfig:Execute)
[FSM:STAGE:REMOTE-ERROR]: Result: end-point-unavailable Code: unspecified Message: Configuring Fan Policy Failed(sam:dme:EquipmentChassisFanPolicyConfig:Execute)
Remote Invocation Result | : | End Point Protocol Error, End Point Unavailable |
Remote Invocation Error Code | : | 1003 |
Remote Invocation Description | : | Configuring Fan Policy Failed |
I tried searching for other results or blog entries but could not find any similar to this error message.
Thank you all for this amazing forum and your nice support.
With kind regards
Elmar

The end point prot/unavailable message, may be related to I2C bus communication between the IOM and the various components such as fans, PSUs, etc.
Normally I would advise opening a TAC case for log review which would indicate what segment was causing the I2c bus issues, but the 6200s are past LDOS.
In a maint window, you might want to try reseating all the fans (one at a time) and possible PSUs (one at a time) and see if the fan policy completes application.
If all else fails, you can attempt a IOM reboot/reset (or physical reseat) during maint window.

Thank you Kirk,
the second IOM was the Problem. After reseating and resetting it the Fan Policy could be deployed.
And some other read errors like fan performance are gone now.
Thank you for your help.
