didn't support qsfp passive copper cable twinax

Hi,

I've installed today new UCS infrastructure with Cluster FI 6332-16UP.

I connected 4 QSFP-40G-SR-BD uplinks for Nexus 6000 in ports 17-20 each FI,

and 2 QSFP-H40G-CU5M downlinks for Chassis in ports 39-40 each FI.

after that, I saw at UCS Manager faults that ports 39-40 that connected with QSFP-H40G-CU5M didn't support because of its passive cooper.

at the Documentation, QSFP-H40G-CU5M is part of supported transceivers so why it didn't support?

please help me to understand this fault.

waiting for your response.

Best Regards,

Gilad Katz

Greetings.

The cables do work in most of the ports.

You happened to have picked the 6 ports that require active cables.

Please check https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-b-series-blade-servers/6332-specsheet.pdf
