Difference between N20-C6508-UPG and N20-C6508?

I'm trying to configure a quote for a N20-C6508 in Cisco commerce workspace however I'm presented with an error.

The error is:

"N20-C6508 cannot be configured outside the Bundle. Please use N20-C6508-UPG PID."

I'm able to configure a quote if I choose N20-C6508-UPG as to top P/N.

Can someone tell me what the difference is between these 2.

The same goes for N10-S6100-UPG.

If I try to configure a quote for N10-S6100 I get an error but with N10-S6100-UPG it's OK.

Hello,

Both refers to same product ID and difference exists due to different backend ordering tools.

I would suggest you confirm it with a Cisco sales engineer.

For the part number with -UPG represents the top-level SKU for the individual chassis, blades, and fabric interconnects in which it can be ordered on its own and separate that is not part of a "system."

In the old days of Cisco UCS, you need to order the system with a top level part number and go through the CCW/Netformx wizard to configure an entire SYSTEM. From there, people would add blades and chassis from the selection.

So if they are ordering the UCS 5108 Blade Server inside the UCS chassis system, they would have to order part number N20-C6508 but if they are ordering it outside the UCS chassis system then they would have to order part number N20-C6508-UPG.
