Error while configuring Service-Profile on UCS

Hello,

Need assistance.

I am trying to build a lab with a cisco UCS (Model: UCS 5108) with 2 flex interconnects (models: Cisco UCS 6248UP). I have been trying to create a service profile and associate the servers on the chasis to the chasis to the service profile so that i can install a VMware vSphere on it but i keep on getting an error whenever i try creating  a service profile.

Has anyone experienced this before and how was it resolved. (See pic below.)

Hi,

Do you see the "protect configuration" option checked in the local disk config policy?
Please uncheck that and try.

Also, select the correct Raid configuration according to the drives available in your server.

Sorry for the late response.

I did as you instructed but still coming up with errors

I dont understand or know the error it is raising.

Hi,

As per the alert now, I can see that "destructive" alert you were getting previously is gone this time.

now coming to this other one "advanced boot or secure boot" error, and I can see you are using a B230 M2, for which I found a defect: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCun10760/?rfs=iqvred

According to the workaround: For Cisco UCS M1 and M2 blade and rack servers using standard boot order, you can only select a top-level device.

e.g remove the second level boot order option "Local CD/DVD" and add "CD/DVD" to address the issue.
