ESXi 5.0.0 Not Recognizing RAID Volume on LSI MegaRAID.

Hi,

I Have a C220M3 with the LSI MegaRAID SAS 9266-8i controller. I used the MegaRAID utility to create a RAID volume, which shows up as virtual drive 0 in CIMC. My ESXi 5.0.0 installation (on flex flash) does not recognize this volume and I cannot use it as a datastore.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Joey

Try using the OEM Customize Installer for Cisco image as a virtual CD installation using KVM or, you can also burn it to a CD:

Did you try "Adding Storage" in ESX?

From the CLI have a look the output of lspci and see if there's any LSI drive entries.

Robert

Yes I did try adding storage in ESX but there's no disk found.

I assume that the lspci command is a vmware command. I'll have to install the CLI.

Joey

Hello Joey,

You can SSH into ESXi host and execute the commands.

lspci

esxcfg-scsidevs -l

That worked perfectly.
