Hi all,

I changed the IP for my 2 fabrics. but after I did this I cant do ping from my ucs to my default gateway, my question is when I change the Ips from the fabric should I do any other change?

This are the steps I did to make the change.

UCS-A# scope fabric-interconnect a
UCS-A /fabric-interconnect # set out-of-band ip 192.0.2.111 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.0.2.1
UCS-A /fabric-interconnect* # scope fabric-interconnect b
UCS-A /fabric-interconnect* # set out-of-band ip 192.0.2.112 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.0.2.1
UCS-A /fabric-interconnect* # scope system
UCS-A /system* # set virtual-ip 192.0.2.113
UCS-A /system* # commit-buffer

thanks.

No, there is nothing else to change in the UCS.

Hello,

From UCS, as long as your IP scheme is correct, there is nothing else to change. Check your upstream switch and see if you are learning the MAC for the UCS management interface.

Hello,

I only did the change in the fabrics , show I do any other change in the UCS ?

thanks.

No, there is nothing else to change in the UCS.

One more question, I only see MAC in one of the port-channels this will mean that from the 4 interface I have to my NK5000 only 2 are working, even with this I should be able to connect write?

thanks.

The UCS mgmt interfaces will use out of band for UCSM connectivity.

It sounds like you are looking at the data path interface if you have 4 of them. This would be in-band connectivity.

Use 'show cdp neighbors' on your fabric interconnect from the nxos shell to see what devices connect to mgmt0 and trace northbound accordingly.

Hello,

Maybe I got wrong here, the origianl idea of my change was , to change the VIP to access the UCS.  And I applyed the command I posted first, my questions is to change the VIP will I have to do?

thanks.

You followed the correct procedure to change the VIP.

You then mentioned you checked port-channels on 4 interfaces on the northbound switch. There are only two UCS management interfaces, not four.

Where is the layer 3 gateway for the 192.0.2.1 subnet? On the N5K? If it is not, I would continue to trace the MAC address for the UCS management interface to the gateway and find where the connectivity is lost.

Thanks.!
