will you be able to tell me the  scenario when each mode will be used on real environment?

Hello Jose,

Ethernet end-host mode is commonly deployed as it presents FI like host to upstream LAN switch. On the other hand, ethernet switch mode, makes FI to operate as regular LAN switch and introduces additional control plane overhead.

By default, FC operates in end-host ( similar to FC NPV ) mode and it enables to connect to non-Cisco SAN switches.

FC switching mode is used if you are planning to directly attach FC or FCoE storage arrays to FI.

Beyond version 2.0 there is really no use-case to ever use Ethernet Switching Mode.  The only prior use case was for disjoint layer 2 networks upstream.  Starting with UCSM 2.0 we can accomodate Disjoint upstream networks while keeping the system in EHM.
