has insufficient number of DIMMs, CPUs and/or adapters

Hi,

We have B200 M5 that came with 4 DIMMs [not in the same box], and 2 CPUs

I read the sheets about the B200M5 DIMMs, and inserted the DIMM like in the manual [The CPUs are in 1 & 2]

I tried 2 things to do :

1. For CPU1 :

A1,D1

For CPU2 :

G1,K1

in this kind of connection, I'm getting the error :

DIMM DIMM_K1 on server 5/7 operState: disabled

But,

in this type :

CPU1 -

A1,B1

CPU2 -

G1,H1

I'm getting this error :

Service-Profile xxxx has insufficient number of DIMMs, CPUs and/or adapters

Is it saying that it's good, but we just need more DIMMs ?

sorry for the mess, and thanks in advance,

With 4 DIMMs you should have A1, B1, G1, H1. That is correct.

It looks like it might not be identifying your adapter correctly. Do you have proper FW version on the blade?

Is this the only blade having the problem or do you have working blades on the same FW?

You can also just start removing policies from the service profile until it associates and then try to narrow down what is causing the problem.

Hi Wes,

The DIMMs are now on A1, B1, G1, H1

I'm getting now the fault that server 5/7  has insufficient number of DIMMs, CPUs and/or adapters

We have already 3 blades with the same config/FW, and this is the only one that did it [also it's the only one with only 4 DIMMs. the rest got 8 DIMMs]

BTW-

I'm not getting to the point that I can associate SP, because the Discovry is failed, and stuck o 4% ...

Editing :

now also, except this error, I have critical error [see screenshot]

Thanks

Ron,

I would swap the adapter with a known working adapter and see if the problem persist.

Hi Wes,

Which adapter you mean ?

The mezz adapter

Hi Wes,

It didn't helped.....

But, now I got another part for this server : CPU 8176-C

It looks strange, very strange.

Should it be inserted inside this B200-M5 ?

Maybe it'll solve the error message ?

?

someone ? please
