Hey all,
Upgraded my system to 2.1 yesterday. Lost connectovity to the SAN. I see that my FC trunks are in a failed state. My upstream devices are a pair of MDS 9124 running code 4.1(3a).
Here is the config that was woring on my switch before the upgrade. Also note that I had a lot of trouble getting this to work with 2.0 and without doing anything it sudenly started working. It likely would have failed if I had just restarted at the old 2.0.4 version.
interface port-channel 1
channel mode active
switchport rate-mode dedicated
switchport trunk mode off
interface fc1/23
switchport description CAPH-UCS1
switchport trunk mode off
port-license acquire
channel-group 1 force
no shutdown
interface fc1/24
switchport description CAPH-UCS1
switchport trunk mode off
port-license acquire
channel-group 1 force
no shutdown
UCS is running 2.1 and is in end-host mode.
Thanks,
Patrick

Per the interopt guide, MDS must be version 4.2.1b or later.

Other than that, the config looks good. What do the MDS logs show as the reason for the ports going down?
Have you looked at the UCS logs also?
There should be clues in both places.
Regards,
Robert
