Hi All,
Could anybody confirm that number of the UCS-C210-M2 server?
We have 4 UCS-C210-M2 server,
One of the server have 10 fan, and 4 in the critical status
but the others only have 6 fan.
Is this could be a wrong alarm or should we rma the fan?
thanks before.

Hi,
You are hitting a known issu eon the C210 server:
CSCtr11881 UCS C210 FAN4 FAN5 TACH sensors have status Critical and speed 0
Workaround: reset the CIMC and that should take care of this fault.
Soultion: Update the firmware to any of the latest 1.4 release.
Thanks!

Hi Abbharga,
Thanks for the reply.
I'll try to reset the CIMC first and hopefully will take care of this fault.

Hi,
I have a c210-M2 server. It is showing crtitical and 0 for the six fans (3x2) and the fans are running at full speed.
Problem persists across 1.1 - 1.4(3)
Tried multiple CIMC and CMOS resets but no use.
What else could be tried to solve this?

Greetings.
Have you recently installed any additional equipment or PCI-E cards?
Besides the CIMC mem leak, that your CIMC resets/hard power cycles would have resolved short term, raid controller 'ROC' chip temps 85 and above can trigger high fan speeds.
You may want to try reseating the fan assembly after removing the top panel.
Do any of your temp sensors look hot? I.e. CPU, DIMM, FP/front panel, etc?
The 210m2s are long past end of support, so 1.43z is probably the last firmware around for those, which would have a fix for https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCtr11881/?reffering_site=dumpcr
Thanks,
Kirk...

Hi,
thanks for the response. The server had been rarely used. There are no cards right now.
Just stock chassis with empty riser card. Even no HDD connected. All temperatures are normal.
As far as I remember it always ran at high speed but I ignored the problem.
Initially it was running 1.1, I upgraded to 1.31, 1.4.3 and now 1.4.1 but this issue is always there.
Checked the fan connectors and they are all firmly seated.
The main issue is that the sensors don't show the reading they always show 0 and the status as critical.
The psu fans are reflected as normal with correct RPMS's
Any debugs to see whats happening. Any manufacturing mode resets? I see a label on an undocumented jumper as "Manufacturing".
Since its out of sale, just trying to see if I can make it usable.
Appreciate any help.
