Hello!
I couldn't find any Cisco document explaining this procedure. I have to do a replacement for the primary IOM in one chassis. does anyone know how to replace a IO Module 2104XP on a UCS Chassic? From the UCSM, there's no option to decommession the IOM, it's hotswappable? do I just need to unplug the IO Module from the Chassis then put the new one in? Or there's any other step or consideration need to be taken?.
Thanks in advance,
kind regards.

Hello,
You do not need to decommission the IOM when you replace it, you can simply remove the IOM and re-install the new IOM. Once the new IOM is installed, it will pull its firmware from the parent FI.
I would suggest you conduct this during a scheduled maintenance window. You will lose data paths to servers that are pinned to that IOM.
