How do you shutdown UCS central virtual appliance? I have it running on a standalone ESXi machine and I need to shutdown the ESXi machine for some maintenance. Since the vm doesn't have VMware tools installed you can't shut it down from vCenter and I'm looking at the cli configuration guide and I don't see any specific command for shutting it down from the cli. Also, I don't see an option from the gui to shut it down. I ended up just powering off the vm since I'm just playing around with it right now, but for future reference I was wondering what's the proper way to shut the vm down.

Hello Russ,
Currently there is no option available in GUI / CLI to perform graceful shutdown of the UCS central VM.
Following defect tracks this behavior

As a workaround until this feature is available, i did see a 'reboot' option in local management CLI.
Prior to rebooting, edit the VM properties under Options > Boot Options > Check Force BIOS Setup. This will prevent the OS from reloading. Then you can shutdown.
Once you power the VM back up, the BIOS check will be gone and the VM will load.
Thank You,

Sending a Ctrl+ALT+Delete to the VM in hyper-v initiates a reboot

Hycon,
Thank you for the reply.
It should also be noted that you can shut down the VM via CLI as well now.
