Hello Team
In my new 5 node HX 240 implementation, i see that one of the HDD status in one node is "BLACK LISTED".
Looks like the slot ID is also not correct
No alert in UCS manager. What to be checked?

Hi, Shamim
Please open a TAC case, so that a Cisco TAC engineer can check on whether the disk has actually failed or if the disk needs to be whitelisted.
Solely,
Cliff Aldan

Thank you. I did so.
TAC has asked for the output for sysmtool --ns disk --cmd list

Hi, Shamim
Was TAC able to assist you with your blacklisted HDD?
10-19-2016 01:07 PM
Yes Clifford
1. TAC found that HDD is faulty
2. Replaced the HDD
3. After replacement, the change didn't affected in Web Client -> HX Manager or in the UCS Manager. Both these places we saw the old HDD's Serial number
4. We had to re-acknowledge the rack server to get the updated status. After re-acknowledge, correct serial number appeared in UCS Manager. Cluster came up fine.
5. But in Web Client HX Manager view, we still have an ghost entry, which say that "Black listed" and there is also another row with correct details about the HDD
6. TAC Advised to restart the vCenter Web Client service. Need to try this. In the mean time TAC is checking in escalation engineers.
Cheers, Shamim

I had the same issue. TAC replaced the drives but still all 5 drives shows blacklisted
