Hi All,
Wanted to know if there is any ways of exporting service profile for a single blade instead of importing the full UCS backup.

Please provide any inputs on the following use case
Use Case
- Apply Profile A on some blade B1 on the chassis.
- Now user goes ahead and do some changes on the blade B1 manually and wants to save the changes in form of a new Profile B on the UCS
Is this a valid use case for saving a service profile in the UCS?
Thanks in advance for any help in this regard

Right-click the service profile A
Create Clone B
Any changes are automatically saved to Server Profile A
So this would give you the old Profile in B, and the new editted profile in A.
If you want to keep the original and reverse them, then you would have to clone it, disassociate it, associate the clone with the blade, and then make your changes.

Hi,
you could backup the config (config-logical should do if you want service profiles) and use a text (or even better a XML) editor to extract the service profile you want.
Change what you want/need and import the XML piece back with the "merge" option.

Michael
