Memory Operating Speed 1333MHz

Terry MacDougal

On boot up, I am seeing 1333MHz for the memory speed instead of 1600MHz. I have 4 DIMMs (16G DDR3-1600MHz) in slots A0, B0, E0 and F0.

I thought I disabled all the power capping crap. Can I check some other settings?

Thanks

Hi Terry,

The reason the DIMMs are running at 1333MHz is because the processor you have installed is rated at 1333MHz, so your dimms will be clocked at that speed.

  See spec sheet below:

"1. If higher or lower speed DIMMs are selected than what is shown in the table for a given CPU, the DIMMs will be clocked at the lowest common denominator of CPU clock and DIMM clock."
