MGMT1

Hi Guys,

AFAIK, FI 6120XP has two MGMT interfaces:

  • MGMT0: used for out-of-band management;
  • MGMT1: for future use.

Could you please confirm if this information is correct?

I'm asking this because today I have two FI 6120 in a cluster configuration with both MGMT0 connected to management switches and no connections to MGMT1. Based on that, I'm receiving a Major Alarm regarding no connections to MGMT1 interfaces (CODE F0736).

Is it possible to ignore this alarm? If these ports are for future use, why UCS Manager is rising this alarm?

Tks, Diogo.

Correct.  UCS Fabric Interconnects only leverage one of the management ports, not both.

You shouldn't get any alerts on the secondary managemetn interface.

Can you provide:

-Version of UCSM

-Screen shot of the alarm

Thanks,

Robert

Hi Robert,

Customer is using UCSM 2.0 (3a).

Follow attached the screen shot.

I also just confirmed with the customer today that if we have MGMT1 interfaces connected to switches these alarms disappear.

tks, Diogo.
