Missing LOMs on C220 M3 when connected to UCS FI's with VIC 1225

Hello I have a question on UCS C-Series. I hope someone can help:

We have a Cisco UCS C220M3 Rack server and because of some limitations on the vlans we added a VIC 1225 Card on it to attach it to a pair of Fabric Interconnects and provide those vlans

We know how to do service profiles and the server is working fine on the VIC (actually we added 4 vnics from that VIC card to segregate traffic).

For some reason the ESXi host that we used to have installed there is missing the LOM nics that we used to have. On the Bios (when we boot the server and kvm into it it shows an status of LOMs enabled but the option rom status as not loaded. On the other side the nics that come from the vic card work fine.

The server is currently direct connected to the FIs.

We need to know how to enable the 1 Gbps LOM nics as we need them to connect to another backup network on a different Catalyst switch.

can you help?

Regards

Greetings.

The LOM ports are used for management traffic in a dual wire connectivity (via FEX).

In single wire or direct connect configuration the LOM ports are auto disabled by default.

Other add in PCI-E NICs could be used (other than VICs) such as Intel 4port 1Gb card, as those won't be management by UCSM/service profile, but can be configured at the OS level, and connected to a northbound switch.

Thanks,

Kirk...
