Need to determine which server has the amber light

I was told that there is a server that is displaying amber light, but I need to find out from the UCS Manager or Hyperflex manager how can I do it? Is there any stcli command to find it. There is no blacklisted drives and all the servers look healthy.

Where is the amber light? On an individual disk or on the server chassis?

The UCS CIMC/UCSM GUI should also display the fault (most of the time*).

* With Hyperflex when a disk fails Hyperflex sets the amber light on the disk directly through the storage controller, so CIMC/UCSM may (or may not) be aware.

You say there are no blacklisted disks, but are there any missing disks? I've seen a few times where a disk just "goes missing".

(Usually this is due to how the disk failed. "Unexpected Exception" is another way to say this.)

Are these servers connected to Intersight (both at the CIMC/UCSM level and HX cluster level)?

If so, then given a SN they I may be able to investigate further?

May need to open a TAC case to investigate deeper instead of just a glancing view from the community forum.

I did not see it physically, but someone who saw it said that it is on the controller.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

I think it is on the server chasis. None of the disks are having any issues.

Thanks
