If VMs deployed in your infrastructure are memory intensive application and are constrained by amount of installed memory, then adding more memory ( as allowed by server model ) might ease the situation.
If not, there are lot of other design parameters like workload, application requirements, current infrastructure, expected growth etc that needs to be taken into consideration.
