New UCS-X Direct deployment - looking for X-Series server firmware

Hi all,

I'm deploying two new UCS-X Direct chassis with X210 blades, they are air gapped so will not be connected to Intersight and will just be configured using UCS Manager.

I'm trying to build the service profile for the x210 blade but can't seem to find the software bundle for them.

Previously when upgrading the firmware on B series blades I would download the infrastructure (A pack) and the Blade (B Pack) and create a new host firmware pack to be applied to the blades, however no such pack exists for the X series.

So how do I create a host firmware pack to keep the X series up to date with the infrastructure??

I need to build the service profile for these new blades but can't find a guide that covers UCS-X
Any help would be appreciated

The B-Series firmware bundle contains the X-Series blade firmware components. This has tripped me up more than once. I have repeatedly firmly nudged Cisco via my local contacts that the label/title of UCS B-Series Blade Server Software is both wrong and confusing. The file information on that page, "Software for the UCS B-Series and X-Series blade server product" above the file name, e.g. ucs-k9-bundle-b-series.4.3.3c.B.bin is better, but still easy to miss. I wish they would use the same text in the page/section title.

Also, the section you need to look for, has no mention of X-Series: Downloads Home / Servers - Unified Computing / UCS B-Series Blade Server Software . You are just supposed to figure out and remember that this is the right place to look.

Also, from the Cisco UCS HCL, if you find an X-Series server, pick a particular firmware version, in the results, in the Details column, there is a link, "Driver ISO", which takes you to the latest X-Series driver ISO (not the correct version for the firmware you have chosen, regrettably). Unfortunately, the "Firmware" text above the "Driver ISO" link, is not a link to the above B/X-Series firmware bundle page, which would make the X-Series firmware more discoverable.
