Hi All,
We are having issues getting our fabric interconnects to sync time with our internal time source. We have a pair of the 6248UP's and a pair of the 6120XP's both running the 2.0.1s code, both show the same issue.. We have set our time source (it is a Cisco Catalyst 6500 series) but the time doesn't sync. If I set the time sync to an external source (pool.ntp.org) it works fine.
Running show ntp peer-status gives me this (xx's entered by me, they are the internal IP addresses and are correct):
Total peers : 2
* - selected for sync, + - peer mode(active),
- - peer mode(passive), = - polled in client mode
remote local st poll reach delay
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*69.164.217.193 xx.xx.xx.xx 3 16 377 0.04393
=xx.xx.xx.xx xx.xx.xx.xx 16 16 0 0.00000
So it has selected the pool.ntp.org and is syncing with it, but won't sync with our internal time source. If I remove the pool.ntp.org, I get:
Total peers : 1
* - selected for sync, + - peer mode(active),
- - peer mode(passive), = - polled in client mode
remote local st poll reach delay
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=xx.xx.xx.xx xx.xx.xx.xx 16 16 0 0.00000
I check the firewall and it is not seeing any deny's. Actually, it's not seeing ANY traffic from the fabric interconnect to the time source at all. Like it's not even trying.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bob
