Solved: # of vnics for n1k

what is the appropriate no of nics or best practice setup for nexus 1000k deployment? 2 nics? I currently use 8 vnics split up into 4 vswitches.

If i use my current setup, that mean I will need 4 n1k installations?

Tony,

There will only be 1 N1k installation carrying all 8 vNICs. Or, you could condense the 8 vNICs into 2 - depends on bw & qos requirements in UCS. Rule of thumb is to limit the same vlans to the same pair of vNICs. We have observed packet drops when VLANs are spread across multiple vNICs on the same fabric.
