Connect-UcsCentral cmdlet fails with the error
Connect-UcsCentral : Connect-UcsCentral: Connection to ucscentral Failed.
At line:1 char:19
+ Connect-UcsCentral <<<< ucscentral
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Connect-UcsCentral], Exception
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : Cisco.UcsCentral.Cmdlets.ConnectUcsCentral
any thoughts why this is generating error? do i need access more than readonly?

ok, I found a workaround but still need cisco to tell why it doesn't work. The cmdlet works when used with IP address and doesn't work when a short name or FQDN or alias is used.

Hello,
It seems that, entry is missing in /etc/hosts file for short name or FQDN or alias.
You need to add IP in /etc/hosts file for short name or FQDN or alias.
