Trying to find a way to truly wipe the config of modular RAID HBA, it seems to retain the "Device ID" of drives that have been inserted in NVRAM. The storage adapter utility you access during POST has a reset which doesn't work, CIMC /chassis/storageadapter has a clear-all-config which also didn't work. The device ID determines the PCI enumeration, which determines the default linux drive ordering, which in my application I need to be consistent across many nodes as there is a golden image getting distributed to the bare-metal.
