My main aim is to install the Hyperflex html5 plugin for vCenter. When i do so, it asks for the controller root password. What i have for the root password seems to be incorrect, although I can log on at the console using this password
So ive tried resetting the root password using the below to login to the contoller
ssh root@`/opt/cisco/support/getstctlvmip.sh "Storage Controller Management Network"` -i /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key
but get the normal locked down page asking to generate the challenge for root shell access, which i believe i need to work with TAC to get passed.
Any ideas to help me reset this root password???

If you have 4.5 or higher hx, then installing the html plugin command should be:

Did TAC unlock the restricted shell for you?
If you have access to root at all(without TAC intervention), then there was likely some sort of upgrade failure (post upgrade tasks failed).
You will need to open a TAC case to resolve.

You don't need TAC to install the HTML5 plugin, if your cluster is in a normal state.....
The fact that you have access to 'root' via console, on a 4.5 version tells me your cluster didn't have a complete upgrade.
You need TAC assistant to correct the failed upgrade.
