SAN Replaced, what's the best practice to update UCS?

What are the high-level steps to remove SAN storage that has been decommissioned?  It looks like I just need to update the vHBA profiles for the Servers and Hosts by deleting the vHBAs that were tied to the old storage as well as just remove the VSANs that are no longer in place.  I presume reboots are going to be needed and all that.

Hey Chris - You are certainly on the right thought here...
I would modify or delete the vHBAs as needed...If the SAN is no longer required, then you can get rid of those vHBAs....also, I presume your were booting to SAN, and if so...then your Boot Policy would need to be modified....as you state, VSANs removed.
Those edits do require a Server Reboot, changing boot order, changing PCIe Devices via the Server Profile....I am not sure if you are UCSM or Intersight-IMM, but regardless, those changes will need to be passed to the Server and subsequent reboot.
Sounds like some FC-Ports can be disabled on the FI's.....and Cabling cleaned-up.....

Thank you Matthew, I appreciate it.

There's no SAN booting going on.  It's simply storage.  I just want to remove the supporting config due to the faults now being generated after removal of our old core devices.  We're using UCSM.

For a MOP, I plan to copy the storage connectivity policy as a new policy and modify it to only include the two we want to use.

Then, per server blade, apply that connectivity policy so that I can perform the reboots, one blade at a time.

After all the blades are done, I'll deal with the VSANs.

Does that make sense and would do for a rough procedure?  I can find the relative configuration guides for the exact steps.  I just want to make sure I have the right change in the right place in order before I go down the wrong path.

Again, I appreciate the feedback!

Yes Chris - Makes perfect sense....Good Plan!

Terrific, thanks, I'll march down that path and google some guides.
