Hi,

I  have a Cisco UCS C240 M4 server with E5-2690v3. Recently we decide to upgrade the CPU to E5-2660v4. The server has been flashed to firmware version 4.1(1c).

The server not able to boot up after installing the new CPU E5-2660v4. When change back to the old CPU, the server able to boot up normally.

Anyone encounter this issue b4?

How far into post do you get?  Does it hang on configuring server, or do you never get any output on screen at all?

Assuming you have CIMC configured,,, you might want to try resetting CMOS to defaults, in case there is something specifically configured for V3s, that doesn't apply, or hangs up the V4 model.

Kirk...

After installing v4 processors, there's no output on the screen. When pressing power button, the server power up for 1 second and it stays in power off state.

I'm having the same problem with a server that I'm trying up upgrade the CPUs on. I've tried clearing the CMOS with no success. I'm going from a v4 with no hyperthreading to a v4 with hyperthreading.
