Hi,
We have some Rack mount C220's ad 240 servers that we are currently blind to in terms of hardware monitoring. As they are backup servers we don't want the traffic to pass through the FI's, is there a way to monitor the servers with call home using a single cable without a VIC card through an extender. The servers PCI slots are in use with 10GB broadcom and 8GB hba's.
Version 2.2(3f)

Hi Rich
Have a look at https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-55772
Cisco Integrated Management Controller (IMC) Supervisor.
This new software was developed to provide centralized monitoring, inventory and basic management functions for select standalone C-Series (M3/M4) and E-Series Servers (M1/M2). In this session we will cover the background, use cases and use of this new offering which includes the following capabilities:
- Platform Hardware Inventory
- Hardware Health Status
- vKVM Launch (Incl. vMedia)
- Firmware Inventory + Management
- Call Home (E-mail Alerting)

So these servers are already integrated to UCSM and you just want to run a cable from a port in the server that will not go through the Fabric Interconnects? if that is the casse, I dont think CIMC Supervisor would work (afaik) and Call Home through the FIs is your option

Hi Kenny
Not sure ! seems to me they are standalone with 10G Broadcom and 8G HBA ? no VIC for integrating with UCS FI ?
Q. Can UCSM manage non VIC adaptors ? not sure ?
For this use case it's questionable to integrate with UCSM ?

It seemed to be integrated cause he said he is running 2.2 code

They are backup servers so they are outisde of the FI's not integrated we only wanted to add the CIMC to the environment for call home etc.
But this CIMC Sup is perfect, in fact even better it now allows us to have visibility of our reginal sites. Just need to figure out how to register it for call home and all good..
Thanks guys!!!
