Hi,
Recently we had a hard disk replacement on one of the customer's C-series servers. Two days after it, the customer had experienced the said serve disconnecting from the VCenter - and hanging upon rebooting. They have done a cold boot since and the server is up since. I've the tech-support files for the Server. I can only see:
7:2013 Mar 25 01:20:47:BMC:kernel:-:<7>[pilot2_mux_9541_device]:1282:pca9541_mux: could not read ctrl reg (step-first).
repeatedly, in the /var/log/messages for the time that this error has occured.
Can anyone help me identify this error - or am I looing at the wrong place of the support files of the error. I posses the full tech-support collection.
Regards,
Naleendra

Hello Naleendra,
Since we need more information, I would suggest you to open a TAC service request with CIMC and ESXi tech support logs.

Has a case be opened for this?

Hi ,
This alert could be generated by some issues in the server (it could be software or hardware) however we will need to analyze the outputs in the device.
If you open the KVM console in the server, do you see any purple screen?
Did you make sure the ESXi version and the CIMC version are compatible?
Have you checked the issue with VMware?
Please open a TAC case so we can analize the problem as Padma recommended you.
Thanks ,
David
