Hi, all
I'm new to UCS server, so please guide me kindly
what the problem is..
when I try to launch vKVM to install esxi, the kvm console window is not shown.
However, I can see the javaw.exe proccess running. I hava tested with java7, java6, and earlier version.
sometimes java window is open and says downloading application, and verifying the application. nothing more.
do you guys know why it is doing this??
FYI, I used dedicated port, not redundancy port on CIMC configuration. that is the only thing I have ever touched on UCS.
of course assigned the ip address for CIMC.
the host computer is in 192.168.1.x and UCS is in 10.10.10.x
thank you.

Hi,
Are you running exactly the same BIOS and CIMC version described above?
Are you removing completely other Java versions before trying another one?
Is yours also a new installation?
Does this happen to you no matter what PC is used ?
Also, if you recently upgraded, check this out:

Is your computer in English?
There is an issue on that release, where KVM does not open on a non-English Java locale:
CSCuf04523 KVM client not able to launch in non-English locale
Try enabling Java console, and attach the output to verify the details about the failure:
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/javaconsole.xml
Delete the Java cache, if you haven't.
In addition, check this out:
Resolution Steps on a MAC
- Click on the KVM icon in the UCS Cisco Integrated Management Controller (CIMC) and locate the .jnlp file on your PC. It looks similar to this:
viewer.jnlp(14.17.2.100@0@1362683732886)
As shown in this example, the file typically contains the IP address of the Cisco UCS. In this example, the PC saves these files to the My Downloads folder, based on the preferences in the browser. - When you locate the file, right-click the file and choose Open With and then select Other.
- This opens another window where you can choose the Java WebStart.app file to these .jnlp files.
You should now be able to launch the KVM from your CIMC. - If you continue to have an issue, right-click the .jnlp file and click Get Info.
- This opens another window. Click Open with, then click Other. Then, go to Step 3 again.
Resolution Steps on Windows 2008
On a Windows-based PC, the issue is the same. The Java .jnlp files run in the Java Web Start application, which is included with the Java install.
- In Windows 2008, click Start and navigate to Control Panel > Java. This opens Java Control Panel window.
- Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the Java Control Panel.
- Verify that the Java Plug-in is enabled. (Reload the browser, if needed.)
- Click the + to expand JNLP File/MIME Association and verify that Always allow or Prompt user is selected. If not, then make the change and reload the browser.
You should now be able to run your KVM.
Note: You can also open the file with the Javaws.exe program.
