UCS C220 RAID reconfiguration

Hello,

i am trying to reconfigure the RAID's on a Cisco UCS C220 M4S and am stuck. Not sure at this point if it is even theoretically possible.

We have one Cisco Server with the following RAID configuration, each of them has 2 Disks:

VD 0 and 1 contains live Data, VD2 si empty.

We want to delete VD2 (RAID1, empty), take one of the 2 Disks from VD1 out and use the 3 disks to create a VD2 using RAID 5. Afterwards move the data to the new VD2 and destroy VD1 using that disk as a Hotspare.

The problem i am facing now is that i cannot find a way to remove one of the 2 disks from RAID 1 without destroying the RAID which is not an option.

I tried according to this Cisco CLI guide :

show storageadapter
scope storageadapter SLOT-HBA
show physical-drive
scope physical-drive X
show detail
make-unconfigured-good
##Error: State transition not allowed as the PD is Online.
make-offline
make-unconfigured-good
Error: Command issued while FW in wrong state

Anyone did something like this and has some experience or is it at all doable without destroying the RAID?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
