I have a C240 M5 with a VIC 1385 - connected via QSFP to a NM-2-10G module on a 3850-48P. Configured as trunk port.

Link shows down in CIMC.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What breakout cable PID is in use?

Putty/SSH to your CIMC IP

after logging in run:

#scope chassis

#show pci-adapter

(note the slot column for the PCI slot number for the Vic card)

#connect debug-shell 1  (if 1 is the 'slot' number the vic card is in)

#attach-mcp

#dcem-port 0

#dcem-port 1

You should get some status info, as well as the transceiver info that may be helpful.

Thanks,

Thanks Kirk,

That provided some useful information.

For the VIC1385, the output does indicate option rom not loaded (see attachment).

Is this required?

Greetings.

The VIC adapter option rom should only get loaded if there is a PXE boot, iSCSI, or boot FC target defined.

The adapter logs, generated from a CIMC tech support contain some DCBX negotiation stuff that can be helpful.

You may need a TAC case open to take a look at the adapter/CIMC logs, as well as the switch output.

Thanks,

Kirk...
