Hello. As I know on cisco UCS C460 we can extend amount of memory with the help of memory riser boards. Memory riser boards are hot swappable. Does it mean that when I run Win2008R2 Datacenter on c460 server I can hot add and replace memory at riser memory board?
Can I hot replace memory on motherboard slots?
Which models of UCS servers do support hot CPU add/replacement?

Dmitry,
Yes the memory risers are hot swappable, so assuming the bare metal OS can support hot-add memory it will work.
There are no DIMM slots on the motherboard directly on the C460. The memory riser is the only motherboard interfaces for memory.
There's no such thing to my knowledge as hot-add CPU on any Cisco platforms.
Refer to the HW Install Guide for more information:

Thank you for answer.
I compared last models of UCS servers, and find out that only UCS C460 supports hot-add/replace memory, and I created small list of hot-swappable parts. May be it will helpful for somebody.
Server | cpu | memory | Power supplies | PCIe risers/PCIe slots | Cooling fans | HDD |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
C260M2 | no | no | yes | no/no | yes | yes |
C460M2 | no | yes | yes | -/4 yes and 6 no | yes | yes |
C220M3 | no | no | yes | no/no | yes | yes |
C22 M3 | no | no | - (1 power supply) | no/no | no | yes |
C24M3 | no | no | yes | no/no | yes | yes |
C240M3 | no | no | yes | no/no | yes | yes |
C420M3 | no | no | yes | no/no | yes | yes |

Dmitry - Great table.
One correction.
All platforms have hot swap HDDs. It's actually recommended to never swap HDDs with the server powered off with any LSI controllers.
