UCS HW and SW Interoperability Matrix

Hi,

Could someone advise on whether there is a possible typo on the matrix for C220M4 and VMware 6.0 and LOM adapter driver version

I have installed VMware ESXi 6.0 U2 Cisco version on a C220M4 - when I check what LOM driver comes with this it is igb 5.2.5......if I check the matrix it says it should be 5.0.5.1 as screenshot below. This seems like a very old version.......and if I change the VMware version to 5.5 on the matrx the supported driver version is 5.3.1

I would think it would be unusual for a newer version of VMware to support a much older VMware driver

You are right ! if you check vSphere V6, V6 U1, it shows 5.3.1 ! V6 U2 seems to be a typo !

It would be great to get confirmation from Cisco that UCS220 M4 with 2.0(10) firmware with ESXi 6.0U2 requires LOM igb driver 5.3.1......

Servers are shipping to site soon and don't want to have to be rebooting them after go live

Open a TAC case; and get a authorized answer, that you can trust !

Please check

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/servers-unified-computing/unified-computing-system/products-technical-reference-list.html

Release 2.0(12) has a entry for vSphere ESXi 6.0 U2 and the driver is 5.3.1

2.0(10) has no entry for vSphere ESXi 6.0 U2 !!

Correction: above only applies for C460-M4 !!!!!!

I'll open a TAC as it has to be a typo

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/interoperability/matrix/b_hcl_C_rel-2-0-10.pdf

From link above on Pg 74 it shows ESXi 6.0 U1 needs a LOM driver 5.3.1 but on the top of the next page 75 it shows 6.0 U2 as 5.0.5

It looks like 5.3.1 is the supported version but I'll confirm with TAC
