UCSM managed C240 accessing FC via FI?

say I have a C240 M5 server directly dual 10Gbps connected to a pair FI6200 (FI ports are configured as Server ports). There is also storage connected on FI via native FC. The FI is running as Ethernet end host and FC switch mode (local zoning is configured properly).

so will C240 (running win 2016) be able to use the same links to FI to carry both Ethernet data and FC traffic? The C240 has just one VIC 1300 series adapter.

Yes!

Simply create vHBAs on the UCS Service Profile and POOF :: FC over Ethernet-only links.

You'll have:

  • Array <FC> UCS Fabric Interconnect (FC switch mode with local zoning) <FCoE> vHBA on VIC in UCS Server <FC> OS

Follow:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/servers-unified-computing/ucs-infrastructure-ucs-manager-software/116082-config-ucs-das-00.html

This is explicitly for UCS Blades, but UCS integrated rack servers work the same way.
