Unable to Extend HX Cluster Node: Error Version

Hi,

I would like to have your help for an extension of a Cisco HyperFlex infrastructure.

I have a Cisco HyperFlex UCS infrastructure consisting of 3 HX240c M5 and 2 UCS FI 6248UP. Now I have added 3 more HX240c M5 to extend the cluster.

The firmware version is like this:

Existing infrastructure
UCSM System and Kernel: 4.0(2b)A
UCS FI 6248UP: 4.0(2b)
CIMC CONTROLLER of UCS SERVER C240 M5SX: 4.0(1b)

New node to add
CIMC CONTROLLER of UCS SERVER C240 M5SX: 4.1(2d)

As soon as I use the Cisco-HX-Data-Platform-Installer (v3.5.2a-31601) that I had initially installed the cluster it tells me a problem of compatible version.

My problem now is to identify the right version to update the firmware for the equipment. Can anyone help me by telling me which firmware to associate to extend the cluster?

What should be updated with which versions to extend the clsuter? Where do we start to update between HX Data Plateform, UCS FI or UCS SERVERS or VMware to avoid interrupting the production?

I have attached screenshot of equipements version.

You are going to want to open a TAC case.

You also should run the health checker script at:

https://github.com/CiscoDevNet/Hyperflex-Hypercheck

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/hyperconverged-infrastructure/hyperflex-hx-data-platform/214101-hypercheck-hyperflex-health-pre-upgr.html

Some times the newer gear (same overall model #) can have updated harddrive/SSDs, that require newer firmware (HX, UCSM), before being added to an existing cluster.

You might want to upgrade to a newer HX version (i.e. 4.02f) along with UCSM/UCS version that matches the recommended at https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/hyperconverged_systems/HyperFlex_HX_DataPlatformSoftware/Cisco_HXDataPlatform_RN_4_0.html#Cisco_Reference.dita_b64c1500-346e-42df-971f-a30fa186d2c4 and then do your cluster expansion.
