Upgrading memory in B200 M3

Hello,

We need to upgrade memory for one of B200 M3 servers. It is fully equipped with 24x 16GB 1600 RDIMMs. We need to have 512GB of RAM, so we have to replace old DIMMs with 16x 32GB ones. Now, I have a question which DIMMs are better since the price is the same:

UCS-ML-1X324RY-A= 32GB DDR3-1600-MHz LR DIMM/PC3-12800/quad rank/x4/1.35v
or
UCS-ML-1X324RZ-A= 32GB DDR3-1866-MHz LRDIMM/PC3-14900/quad rank/x4/1.5v

CPUs are v2, so they support 1866, however voltage is 1.5. I've also read that performance difference is about 3%. So, is it worth buying 1866?

Cheers,
Krzysztof

Hi kryzstof,

there would be a difference on them depending on how heavy the applications would be. please send me an email at fguasque@cisco.com so I can assist you further in in looking in the best part to get. hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks,

Ferdinand Guasque
