HI guys, I need to patch Esxi 6.0 for meltdown and spectere vulnerabilities. I have downloaded HUU 3.0.4a file to patch UCS itself, I have ESXI patch . DO I need to download drivers for UCS and update them too ?
Currently I have HUU -303a. If I need to update drivers too which drivers should I download for linux-red hat or for Vmware ? (I have UCS-C220 as host and Vmware esxi6.0 on it and CUCM/CUC on top , based on the red hat linux v.6, )
I thought just patching of ESXi 6.0 may not required to update of the drivers so I could leave the old drivers, and old HUU , is this correct?

Greetings.
Please see https://ucshcltool.cloudapps.cisco.com/public/# which will dictate which ESXi drivers to match with your new HUU firmware.
ESXi is your OS loaded on the hardware, so that is where your drivers are concerned.
GuestVMs generally get drivers from the VMware tools install, as that is what contains drivers for virtualized devices (i.e. VMXnet3, mouse, keyboard, etc).
Thanks,
Kirk..

If you are just applying some security patches and not changing major release versions, then generally no.
If you are jumping from 6.0 to 6.0U3, then you should at least check the matrix, and see if you are on correct drivers to begin with.
Thanks,

Thank you , I found out also if I will patch esxi then no need to update drivers and HUU, but if I want to cover hole in UCS hardware then need to update HUU to 3.0.4a and this will require , I think, update of drivers too :(
