Hi folks,
I've got a problem while installing Win2008-R2 over SAN into a LUN with the VIC1240 Adapters on B200 M3 Blades. The Setup ist just not able to find any Remote Storage to install its data. When I use ESXi 5.0u1 everything works fine, the LUN is discovered and it can be written to - while Microsofts setup finds nothing. I had some quick looks at cisco.com for any driver hints or something like that, but I could'nt find anything in that direction.
Any hints are very welcome.
Regards,
Maik

The drivers you need are located here depending on your version of code:
You will need to map the drivers iso and add the appropriate drivers during the initial install. Also, don't forget to unmap the drivers cd and remap the windows iso or you will get an error that windows cant install to that partition.

Maik,
The 2208 definitely supports the Vic 1240.
Here are a few things that I'd recommend you re-verify.
Native vlan need to be set, firmware and latest drivers are loaded, zoning within the Fabric and make sure that the pwwn is registered in the storage accordingly.
You could also verify hw and sw compatibilty list as well.

Let me know how that goes.

Maik,
Could you tell me...what Fabric extenders are you using to connect VIC1240?

Thank you guys for your instant help. The storage drivers were missing at the initial setup and could be loaded with the driver image.
