Hi,
I would like to know in which firmware version release has board controller version 10 compatible for B200M4 blades and how to find out the board controller version for respective firmwares, tried to check in release notes, no go..
Currently, in our environment on all UCS components, 2.2(5c) firmware is running.

Chethan

Hi Chethan
You can check this in the Host Firmware Package, loaded for a specific UCS version, e.g. 2.2.5c.
I remember a caveat, that Board controller Version cannot be downgraded. Therefore it sometimes looks it has a newer version than the rest (BIOS, CIMC,..)
Walter.

Hi Walter,
Thank you,
But before loading package I want to know whether the respective firmware package has required board controller version, then only i can decide and download the package for upgrading on blades right?
Could you please help me on finding out the board controller version availability in recent release?
Regards,
Chethan

Hi Chethan
At the moment I have no access to a live UCS system.
I assume you have downloaded one or multiple versions on your UCS system (A part = infrastructure, and B part= server).
Then you create eg. a Dummy host firmware package, and load the version you are interested.
then you can see the board controller versions for all blades. see attachment
see eg. https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12354646/b250-m2-firmware-upgrade-213f
or with CLI and your current running version:
US-CUCSFISF00-01-A# scope server 1/3
US-CUCSFISF00-01-A /chassis/server # scope boardcontroller
US-CUCSFISF00-01-A /chassis/server/boardcontroller # show image

Hi Walter,
That is correct. That shows the files that are currently being used in the domain. In my post above you can see those specific files in the bundle release note. So you would go to the 2.2(5c) infrastructure in the link above and go down to blade version (b200 m4) in the example above. Those are the files that will be downloaded in that firmware release, which shows brdprog9.0 for 2.2(5c) for a b200 M4.
Hope that clarify a way to see the board controller version before actually downloading the firmware and installing the images into the manager.

Greetings.
You can check http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/ucs_2_2_rb.html as Qiese Dides mentioned.
In searching on that page for 'b200-m4' you will find the line of ucs-b200-m4-brdprog.10.0.bin in the content lists for 2.2(6 c,d,e)
So basically board controller firmware ver 10 is first released in UCS B series bundle 2.2(6c).
Thanks,
Kirk..

Hi Chethan,
What I think you are looking for is the bundle information. The link below shows this information for you;
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/ucs_2_2_rb.html#pgfId-426317
You will go down to the section listed SWT Unified Computing System (UCS) Server Software (B-Series) for 2.2(5c)
This will tell you the 3 major components for every hardware listed in 2.2(5c). Since you have a B200 M4 I would go down to that section. You can tell the B200 M4 has the following contents;
The board controller shows as version 9.
Hope this helps,
Qiese Dides

Also Chethan,
Just to clarify this will be the images downloaded with the 2.2(5c) blade firmware. Any other firmware will be listed there also.
Please let me know if you have any more follow-up questions.
Regards,
Qiese Dides
