i have just installed a new C220 M5 rack server with ESXI OS.
The OS is deployed on the Flash cards. I believe they call it the CIsco FlexFlash
How do i set the server to boot into the ESXi OS and not the Shell?.

You usually land in the default UEFI shell when there is no valid boot order defined .
If you installed ESXi to the SD card,,, then you should have a boot order entry that says SDcard, and probably 'legacy' mode. (If in standalone and accessing CIMC web interface, Compute section, BIOS, boot order, local devices, SD card)
Is this a standalone server, or one that is UCSM integrated?

Can you post a picture of your boot order from the Compute tab in the CIMC?
If you boot and press F6 for the boot Menu, what options are available?
