Cisco C240 M3 disks not working

Hello!

I have a Cisco C240 M3 server with 24 2,5" HDD slots. When I try to add more than 12 disks some of the disks are not detected and show the yellow warning light.

Does anyone know how to resolve the issue?

Greetings.

You might want to check and confirm both SAS cables are plugged up to the sas expander card ports..

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C240/install/C240/raid.html#70368

I believe slots 1-12 are cabled to SAS cable 1, and 13-24 are on SAS cable #2.

I would check to see that the cable is correctly connected on both the controller and the sas expander ports.

Both of the sas connectors are pluged in. The ports stop working in random
order as soon as the 13th disk is inserted.

E.g. If i insert 12 disks all of the will work, but as soon as i insert the
13th it dosen't. But then when i remove any other disk and reseat the
13th(again only 12 disks are left in total) disk it starts working and is
detected.

It's very strange.

That sounds like you either have a bad Raid controller or Backplane.

The server under any kind of a contract?  Now would be good time for a TAC case...
