F2e line cards okn the N7k

Hi, I would like to know whether the F2e Line cards can do Layer 3 OR do they rely on M1 cards for it? Like the F1 cards, did not do any L3 stuff and internally routed from the fabric backplace to the M1s for all L3 functionality.

F2E card can do Layer 3, however, if there is an M1/M2 card available, the F2E will "downgrade" itself into a Layer 2 and let the M1/M2 do all the Layer 3 work.

Even if the f2e is in its own Vdc (which it is to be always), will it still downgrade?
