service profile modified

Hi,

ESXi is installed on a blade with a service profile that has no vHBAs. 

If the vHBAs are added to the service profile, does ESXi need to be re-installed when that service profile is re-applied to the blade?

ESXi should detect them and show them as storage adapters after a reboot from service profile change.

Your biggest issue will probably be whether or not the VMNIC numbering stays the same.

I would take inventory of your vmnics, and the mac addresses at the ucsm level, and confirm if they stay the same or change.

If they change you either have to move them around to the intended vswitch, do an esxi config file hack, or just reinstall esxi.
