Hello, I looked around for awnsers for the following issue but couldn't find anything regarding this particular configuration.
We got an EMC storage directly attached to a Fiber interconnect 6100 running 2.0 with Storage FC port configuration.
Currently we have a single VSAN and the FI is in FC switching mode.
I wanted to know if it is possible to have the same level of functionallity of zoning without using an external FC switch?
Thanks ahead,
Dima

for Direct Storage in UCS, you need an external MDS/N5K switch for support.
The zoning will be done in the External FC switch and pushed to the UCS.
UCS does not support Zoning at this time. Only default Zoning is enabled.

No, even with 2.0 and having the direct connect feature you still need an external fabric switch to perform zoning. The FI's do not perform zoning like an MDS or Nexus 5k.
